Join Church Street United Methodist Church for a comprehensive workshop for caregivers of loved ones with dementia. We will cover the science of the aging brain and dementia, the legal considerations when the diagnosis is dementia, and caregiving from a spiritual lens. During the course of the day, participants will have the opportunity to visit a number of resource tables from local organizations who work in this field and will be invited to ask questions of a panel of experts at the end of the day.

Tentative Schedule

8:30-9 – Registration and gathering in Parish Hall
9:15-10:15 – Neurocognitive disorders: an overview with guest Dr. Monica Crane of Genesis Neuroscience Clinic
10:30-11:30 – Legal documentation and considerations when the diagnosis is dementia with guest Elder Law Attorney Glen Kyle
11:45-12:30 – Caregiving from a spiritual lens with guest Rev. Dawn Chesser
12:30-1:30 – Boxed lunch and panel discussion (covered in cost of event – $12 per person)

 

Breaks will be taken throughout the morning so participants may visit and collect information from resource partners.
