In 2019, the CSUMC Preschool celebrated its 50th anniversary.
The Church Street UMC Preschool celebrated 50 years of quality Christian childcare for the community in 2019.
About Our Program: Our program offers a developmentally-appropriate curriculum designed to enhance each child’s mental, physical, social, and spiritual development in a Christian environment. Our center serves children two-years-old to kindergarten. To be enrolled, children must have reached their second birthday. Children must be completely potty trained to be in the 3’s class. We have 3 STARS and the Gold Sneaker Award! We use the TN Early Learning Developmental Standards as the foundation of our daily lesson plans.
Applying: Applications for enrollment are dated as received, and there is no application fee. Families must visit to apply, and an application is required be turned in to secure a spot on our waitlist. You do not need to schedule an appointment to have a tour, but please call ahead to be sure someone can assist you! As openings occur throughout the year in the center, families are contacted according to their application date. Our major transition occurs in late August when our oldest group enters kindergarten, and younger children move to older classes. It often is difficult to predict availability from date of application to enrollment. Openings occasionally occur throughout the year.
At Enrollment: Parents are given a payment schedule contract which enables them to select a weekly or monthly payment schedule. All tuition payments are due in advance of services: weekly fees are due each Monday, and monthly fees are due on the first day of each month.
Hours: Our center is open year round, Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. We do not require a child to attend each day, but we have no reduction in our weekly rates. Children may arrive any time after 7:30 and must be picked up no later than 5:30. Late pick-up will result in a late fee.
What’s Included: Our tuition fee includes, breakfast, hot lunch, afternoon snack, and degreed staff. A registration fee of $55 is payable when a child is enrolled, and a $50 activity fee is due annually each September. There is one class per age, and the ratio is as follows: 2’s classroom 1:7, 3’s classroom 1:9, and 4’s and 5’s classes 1:11. We have an outdoor playground and a gym for rainy days.
Scholarships: Our budget is under the direction of the church, and scholarships are given to families already enrolled with board approval on a case by case basis.
