Children’s worship

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Matthew 18:2-6

Church Street’s children’s ministry is a vibrant and fun way for our littlest disciples to engage in the glory of God. From children’s worship during our Sunday services to Vacation Bible School and our beautiful children’s choirs and services, Church Street welcomes all of His children.

children’s activities + events

And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Mark 10:16

Throughout the year, Church Street offers a variety of activities and events just for our children, including:

  • Sunday School and Children’s Worship: Ages 2 through 5th grade (Youth starts in 6th grade). Nursery care is provided during worship for children. Children’s Worship with Church Street pastors happens in all services (except on Holy Communion Sundays), and children are invited to join our Children’s Director after Children’s Worship in the Nave for activities.
  • Children’s Sundays: in which children and youth lead all aspects of worship
  • Blessing of the Backpacks & Promotion Sunday: Back-to-School worship in which we prepare our minds and hearts for a new year of learning
  • Fall Festival: a beloved family afternoon for children ages 0-99!
  • Christmas and Easter Activities: provided for children and youth throughout these most holy seasons
  • Camp Hogwarts: A two-day magical camp that draws parallels between the themes of Harry Potter to our faith
  • Vacation Bible School: Each summer, Church Street hosts a four-night inclusive Bible School experience for our young people, ages 4 through rising 6th grade (free dinner included!)
  • Summer Fun Days: Casual get-togethers throughout the summer for families with small children to fellowship within our Knoxville community and beyond
