Promotion Sunday and Blessing of the Backpacks is on Sunday, August 8!

Children of all ages are invited to bring their backpacks to the 8:30 or 11 am worship service in the nave to have a school year blessing. At the Sunday School hour, all children and youth will gather with their parents in the Gym to learn more about school year programming, before breaking off into their new Sunday School classes.

Masks are required for anyone over age 4 in our children’s and youth programming, regardless of vaccination status.

Children’s Choirs

Nursery & Children’s Worship Information

Our nursery is open and Children’s Worship has resumed. Please note our protocol before arriving:

  • Nursery – The nursery is available during both services (8:30 & 11am) and volunteers with children may drop-off their children starting 30 minutes prior to service start. Families attending may drop-off starting 15 minutes prior to service start.
    • We encourage one parent/guardian to drop-off and pick-up nursery age children, and we will collect the best contact phone number for parents/guardians who are attending worship.
    • Adults and children aged 4 and up are required to wear a mask, and any nursery worker or volunteer will have their temperature checked upon arrival. If a worker, volunteer or child is experiencing any sick symptoms, please stay home so we can minimize the spread of germs.
    • CDC guidelines will be followed for changing diapers and cleaning any accidents that a child may have. Hand sanitizer will be readily available, and hand washing will be encouraged.
    • Rooms will be disinfected between each service, and workers, volunteers and children will remain in the same room during that service.
    • All soft toys have been removed from our rooms, and toys are placed in a disinfection container after playtime for cleaning at the conclusion of both services. Two and three year olds will play on the playground as weather permits.
    • The church will not provide a snack, but pre-packaged snacks from home are allowed.
  • Children’s Worship – Children’s Worship is a special time for our youngest congregation members during both services (8:30 & 11am). Children age 4 through 2nd grade will start with their families in worship and be dismissed to Children’s Worship following Children’s Moments.
    • Adults and children are required to wear a mask. Hand sanitizer will be readily available. We will collect the best contact phone number for parents/guardians who are attending worship.
    • Children’s Worship meets in the Children’s wing of the Education building.
    • Snacks are not provided at this time.
    • During activity time, children will have their own pencil box with supplies needed. Any paper, coloring sheet or other materials will be handed to children by a volunteer. Each pencil box will be sanitized between weeks and only one child will use it each Sunday.

children’s worship

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Matthew 18:2-6

Church Street’s children’s ministry is a vibrant and fun way for our littlest disciples to engage in the glory of God. From children’s worship during our Sunday services to Vacation Bible School and our beautiful children’s choirs and services, Church Street welcomes all of His children.
