Cabel is semi-retired
and has served as Special Needs Pastor at Church Street United Methodist
Church since October 1, 1993.
He served as pastor
in the Holston Conference, served eight years on the Conference Board
of Ministry, and served as the Big Stone Gap District Superintendent
for six years.
At Church Street
UMC, Cabel does a wide range of pastoral work, including as many pastoral
visits/contacts as possible each week, with special attention when there
are illnesses, deaths and other special needs.
His travels include
the Holy Land, England, Scotland and Wales, the West Indies - Puerto
Rico, San Juan; Haiti, Port-au-prince, Jamaica, Kingston and Montego
Bay.
