Welcome! Sunday School is a great way for everyone - children, youth and adults - to grow in their faith and love of God and to learn the teachings of Jesus Christ. Church Street offers numerous classes for all ages.

Children's Classes

We celebrate each and every child in our presence as a special gift from God. Caring adults provide age-appropriate experiences of learning for children from birth through 5th grade in classrooms located on all three floors of the Education Building.

Nursery Suite (infants & creepers) - Room 116
Toddlers (18 months to 2 years) - Room 114
2 year olds - Room 113
3 year olds - Room 215
4 year olds - Room 211
Kindergarten - Room 212
Grades 1 thru 5 - Room 214 (The Gathering Place - drop off and pick up)

Younger Children's Classes (Birth through Kindergarten)
Our youngest children learn that church is a happy and safe place to be as they are cared for by our nursery staff and volunteers. Parents should bring young children to the nursery suite lobby (Room 116) and register them before going to Sunday School or worship. Older children, 2 years through kindergarten, follow a planned curriculum of Christian study in their individual classes each week.

Spirit Adventure for Elementary Grades
Children in grades 1 thru 5 experience the Bible in new and creative ways each week through our rotation model Sunday School. Games, study, computers, movies, art and drama are part of this exciting new way to learn the Bible. Children may be dropped off and picked up in The Gathering Place (room 214). From there your children will be escorted by an adult shepherd to and from their particular class for the day's activities.

Youth Classes

All Youth Sunday School classes are held downstairs in the Church Life Center (CLC) at Church Street.

For 6th Graders
Confirmation class for 6th graders lasts throughout the year from September to April and meets in CLC 11. The students study United Methodist beliefs, the life of Jesus Christ, Christian discipleship, worship, the Bible, and what it means to be a member of the church. Occasional field trips and a youth-parent retreat are part of this experience. Parent meetings are scheduled to discuss class content and faith issues. For more information about the Confirmation Class, please contact Rick Isbell at 521-0266 or risbell@churchstreetumc.org.

7th through 12th Grade Classes
Classes are divided into grade levels as follows: 7 and 8, 9 and 10, and 11 and 12. A modified rotation model for Sunday school is used where our teachers rotate through classes on a three-week rotation teaching various principles of the Christian faith through Bible study, Christian teachings, and application in our modern world.
