Nursery and Childcare at Church Street
Children of all ages are welcome in worship as part of our Church Street family. If you need an alternative, childcare is available during worship for children 4 and under. Children age 4 through second grade may attend our Children’s Worship.Worship: Childcare is available on Sunday mornings for children 4 and under beginning at 8:15 in rooms 114 & 116 on the first floor of the education building.
Sunday School: Nursery care is available during Sunday school for infants & crawlers in room 116 and toddlers in room 114.
Evenings & Weekends: Childcare is provided for all Sunday afternoon activities for children 5 and under and for meetings or church wide events if requested by the sponsoring group one week in advance.
Leave quickly after saying good-by. Hovering in the doorway or re-entering the nursery to check on your child makes separation more difficult for everyone. If you feel the need to come back and check on your child please wait in the hallway until a worker can help you.
Regular attendance helps speed the adjustment process. We expect most children to need a few weeks to feel comfortable to new surroundings and we are willing to work with you to make your child happy.
All items must be labelled with first and last names, including bags, cups, pacifiers, bottles, blankets and security items. We frequently have several children with the same first names so last names are necessary.
Each child should have at least one change of clothing and 1 disposable diaper for each hour. Cloth diapers are not used in our nursery.
It is helpful for children to have bottles or cups of juice, water, formula, etc. in case your child gets fussy. We can try to keep your child on his home schedule but this is frequently difficult when several children are present. Nursing mothers are welcome to return to feed their child as needed.
Please use appropriate sign-in procedures when leaving your child, including a cell phone number and location. We cannot accept children in our nursery unless a parent remains on the church campus. If we do not recognize the person picking up a child we may ask for identification. We will call you or come and get you in case of accident, illness or inconsolable crying.
Children in the nursery will not be released to minors.
