Mission
The
mission of the Kay Senior Care Center at Church Street United Methodist
Church is to provide a safe and caring environment, which promotes independence,
self-esteem, and dignity for memory-impaired seniors - enhancing the
quality of life for the participants and their caregivers and supporting
and strengthening the entire family.

An Outreach Ministry
- Made possible
by annual funding from Church Street United Methodist Church members,
client fees, designated gifts from individuals and groups, and grants
from corporations and foundations.
- A scholarship
fund has been established to help defray costs for those with financial
need.
- Governed by a
board composed of church members, family caregivers, and community
professionals knowledgeable about the needs of aging adults.
- Licensed by the
State of Tennessee Department of Human Services.

Days & Hours
of Operation
- Monday - Friday:
7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Choose 2, 3,
4, or 5 days per week, depending on the needs of your family.
- Scheduled drop-in
service is available. Some paperwork required before initial drop-in.

Criteria for
Referral
- Ability to adapt
to group setting.
- Ambulatory or
semi-ambulatory.
- Capable of basic
self-care.
- No longer able
to stay alone but in need of socialization and companionship.
- Open to all,
regardless of religious affiliation. Church membership not required.
- Physician release
and emergency information.

Care Provided
By
- Trained professionals
with a background in geriatrics.
- Nursing/allied
health student interns, OTA students.
- Volunteers from
the church and community.
- Member of the
Tennessee Association of Adult
Day Services; President 2002-2004.

- Ability to pursue
full-time or part-time employment.
- Respite for personal
errands, shopping, or relaxing.
- An alternative
to more expensive nursing home care or home health care services.
- Strength and
support for the family structure.
- Referral to other
agencies and resources as needed.
- Alzheimer support
group the first Wednesday of the month (at church).
