Daily Prayers for Our Church Family

Thank you for praying for the Church Street congregation this week.

Gracious God, Your word tells us faith is assurance of things not seen. Even though we can’t always see your presence you are with us. Thank you Lord, for putting up with us each day, even though we are a selfish and stubborn people. We lift up to you, in prayer, all who suffer: for those who are victims of violence, for those of persecution, aggression, disaster and accident, for the destitute and oppressed, for those who are unloved as well as those who are loved and for those who mourn the loss of friends and loved ones. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We lift up the sick and the lonely in our community; in our hospitals and homes. Help us to be your love for those who turn to us for hope and comfort. Lord, make us instruments of your peace and joy to our friends close by and around the world. Lord, you are the truth that doesn’t lie, help us to seek the truth in love. Make us faithful to prayer and service and help us to wave your banner of faith so that all may see your glory.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lord, we humbly pray these prayers of intercession for these your people, for it is out duty to have compassion for one another:

  • For the caregivers and their families who need guidance and grace.
  • Pray for the doctor’s guidance during foot surgery, successful surgery on Tuesday, and for healing.
  • Strength to get through illness for a couple.
  • Health and the struggle with weight.
  • Someone who lives in Homua La. Who is sick with pneumonia taking 14 different medications.
  • A sister who lost her newborn girl a year ago and has not been able to conceive again.
  • A sister, a granddaughter and an unspoken request from a church member for another.
  • For someone undergoing cancer treatment that is struggling.
  • Continued guidance in the search for a new music minister and for the new pastors coming in.
  • Two unspoken requests, both male.
  • For two years we have prayed for college roommate's youngest son and sister, both died this past month with terminal cancer, prayers for family friends.
  • Concern for a sister and granddaughter, health and wholeness physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually. Also an unknown request for a male.
  • Business travelers and families with young children.
  • A close friend’s daughter and granddaughter whose husband/father died suddenly at age 41; the daughter is 5 years-old with special needs. Another close friend beginning a new round of chemo.
  • Prayers to find a way to ask forgiveness from someone who was sinned against in the past. May the person be found and forgiveness asked for and reconciliation be made.
  • For a husband who had heart surgery last week and her father who is having heart surgery this week.
  • For friends in Birmingham, Al. who are having a baby any day now, and "Lord, may the baby be healthy and mother be safe in delivery."
  • An unspoken request for three couples and one individual. Also for a male “to find his faith with Jesus.”
  • For eight couples who have health concerns.
  • Stephen Ministry and their care receivers.
  • A woman undergoing neurological tests.
  • A male baby who was born at 28 weeks weighing 1 lb. 13.8 ounces. The doctors say he is doing well, but is very small.

And for these joys we give you praise, our God:

  • For God's grace in our lives.
