Jim Fleming Lecture Series
Nov. 20 & 21, 2011
Theme: Jesus the Good Shepherd

Dr. Jim Fleming has become a Church Street tradition. In 2009, he returns for the 12th consecutive year to present his biblical lecture series. Sponsored by the Education Commission, these lectures, scheduled in the fall, are funded through the operating budget of the church. Walk Through Bethlehem
December 18, 2011
1 to 6 pm

Thousands of persons have discovered at Church Street what the village of Bethlehem might have been like the night Jesus was born.

Held each December, hundred of volunteers take part in this special annual event. Our Parish Hall and surrounding our transformed into Bethlehem where visitors can visit various shops, listen the storytellers, talk to the villagers, see the animals on the hillside, taste the local foods, and search for the baby born that night.

Boomsday!
2012 Date to be Announced

Boomsday! is a Knoxville tradition occurring around Labor Day...where lots of activities occur down near the river and a huge array of fireworks are set off the Henley Street bridge. Church Street gets on board with numerous activities that coincide with the Knoxville event. Persons of all ages can enjoy movies, skating in the gym, games, magicians, and a supper of Buddy's BarBQue.


A. Orin Bishop Lecture Series
Date to be Announced

Through the presence and inspiration of outstanding biblical scholars and teachers, Church Street members and others in the Knoxville area are challenged to greater understanding of the Bible's enduring message. This annual lectureship is dedicated to the memory of A. Orin Bishop, active church and community leader, student of the Bible, and devoted husband, father and grandfather who exemplified in his life the timeless message of the Bible. We are grateful to the Bishop family, whose memorial gift makes this lecture series possible.
