Kroger Community Rewards

If you are currently enrolled in the Kroger Community Rewards to raise money for the Kay Center, beginning August 11, you will need to re-enroll your Kroger Plus Card for the new fiscal year. To re-enroll simply go to Krogercommunityrewards.com and sign into your Kroger.com account. Find and select the Kay Center and select save. You will start earning rewards starting September 1, for qualifying purchases.

If you are not currently enrolled, follow these instructions and you will start earning rewards for the Kay Center. All you need is a Kroger Plus card and a Kroger Rewards Account.
If you have a Kroger Rewards Account
? Sign in and click account setting
? Scroll to the bottom of the page, Click on edit in the Community Rewards Program box and follow the instructions

If you do not have a Kroger Rewards Account
? Go to www.kroger.com and create an account
? Add your Kroger Plus Card to the account
? Scroll to the bottom right and click on edit in the Community Rewards Program box and follow the instructions
The Organization Number for the Kay Senior Care Center is 80410. Now you are ready! Just swipe your registered Kroger Plus Card at the register and each purchase you make will count towards the Kay Senior Care Center!

Join the Come and Sing Choir

Don't forget, we will host our annual "Come and Sing" Choir at the 8:30 a.m. worship service on Sundays, August 10 and 17. This is exactly as it sounds, and it literally means, 'come and sing!' Please arrive at 8 a.m. in the choir loft and we'll have rehearsal for about 25 minutes to prepare an anthem for the worship service to follow. Dress appropriately; we will not wear choir robes!

Support Wesley House

The 9th Annual Wesley House Friends and Donors Breakfast will be held on Friday, August 8, at Middlebrook Pike United Methodist Church. Doors will open at 6:45 a.m. with the program beginning at 7:30 a.m. and concluding by 8:30 a.m. This fun event is a great way to learn more about the ministry of and happenings at Wesley House.

There is no cost for attending the breakfast, but they do ask for reservations by calling Wesley House at (865) 524-5494.

Boomsday Carnival Needs Volunteers

The Kay Senior Care Center and Child Preschool at Church Street will be hosting a Boomsday Carnival on Saturday, August 30, beginning at 4 p.m. All proceeds will benefit these two programs.

Are you planning on coming to Boomsday? Do you wonder where you will park or if you will be able to find a convenient spot? To guarantee you will have a place to park and enjoy the Boomsday festivities, please consider volunteering for a two-hour shift in exchange for a free parking spot (must arrive before 6 p.m. to guarantee a parking space). We also have opportunities to sponsor the carnival. There are three different sponsorship levels to choose from: Red--$100 White--$200 Blue--$300.
Tickets will be on sale in the breezeway on Sundays or the main office during the week. If you are interested in volunteering or sponsoring one of the carnival events, please contact Judith Winters at 521-0293 or Beth Cooper-Libby at 524-3511.

Calling All Men

The Holston Conference's annual men's event will be held on August 1 and 2 at Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, TN. Friday night will include a community picnic with music, storytelling, and worship. Saturday will be an evangelistic event, with three keynote speakers, music, workshops, fellowship, and worship. Financial Peace University

We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that plan! It teaches God's ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussion and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more!

Class sessions include: Super Saving, Relating to your spouse (or others) about money, Cash Flow Planning, Dumping Debt, Buyer Beware, the Role of Insurance, Real Estate and Mortages, Retirement and College Planning, the Power of Generous Giving.

Church Street offers two sessions of FPU: one starts in September and one in January. Orientation sessions for the September class with be held at 2 p.m. on Sundays, August 24 and September 14. Just attend one of the orientation sessions, not both. The course will begin on Sunday, September 21, and run once per week for nine weeks. Church Street Members will receive a discounted materials fee of $75. Prayer Ministry Team

Each week there is a team of people that prays for the concerns of the congregation. When prayer cards are turned in on Sundays or during the week, the concerns are sent confidentially to the clergy staff and members of our prayer ministry team. The concerns are lifted to God in prayer each week. Beacon of Hope: Food Co-op

The Beacon of Hope Food Co-Op is now serving families and individuals in the Vestal community. The members of the co-op will participate by paying a small membership fee. An approved member will then be asked to pay a small bi-weekly fee along with volunteering to assist in preparation and distribution.

The Co-op is in need of donations. Please place the requested items listed below in the large donation bin in the hallway outside the kitchen, across from room 118. We appreciate your continued support of this ministry.

Join us for the church picnic

We hope you will join us for the Party in the Parking Lot next Sunday, July 20. The event will start with dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by a performance from local jazz ensemble, the Marble City 5. After the entertainment, we will show the movie "Frozen." Dinner will be chicken, green beans, macaroni & cheese, fruit salad and an ice cream bar for dessert.
