WNAF Features Laura Still
  [Less]

On Wednesday, September 24, we welcome Laura Still as the speaker at our first fall Wednesday Noon Adult Fellowship luncheon program in Parish Hall. Laura is a published author, storyteller and Knoxville walking tour host. She will share the unique stories of Knoxville's history as her walking tour business has expanded from just one tour to now eight different tours of downtown Knoxville.

Laura is a native Tennessean, published poet, playwright and host for her business, Knoxville Walking Tours. She is a long-time member of Church Street and serves as a Sunday School teacher, labyrinth guide and the Archangel in the church's annual Walk Through Bethlehem. She has written and produced over 50 biblical plays for our children's Spirit Adventure drama workshop. Still is also a long time member of the Knoxville Writer's Guild and her poetry appears in many of the KWG anthologies.

Over the past years Laura developed an interest and passion for all the unique stories about Knoxville's colorful past. Upon the encouragement of family, friends and Jack Neely, she began offering regular walking tours of downtown Knoxville. What started as one history and one entertainment tour expanded rapidly to eight different tours. Her tours attract guests from all over the world as well as Knoxville residents. These tours have also inspired her latest book, A Haunted History of Knoxville, to be released in the next few weeks. Don't miss the opportunity to hear Laura as she shares all the unique things about Knoxville's colorful past on September 24, at 12:30 pm. Make your luncheon reservations by calling the church, 524-3048 or by e-mailing reservations@churchstreetumc.org.
