Advent Crafts Festival
  [Less]

Before you know it, Advent will be here and all the festivities and events will begin at Church Street. The very first event will be our Advent Crafts Festival on Sunday, November 30, from 5:30-7 p.m. in Parish Hall. This is a fun and festive evening for all ages as we get the opportunity to make some crafts to decorate our home, our tree and to take to others in December. There will be some old favorite crafts and some brand new ones this year. There will be something to spark the creativity in everyone who comes. See examples of some of the crafts on the church?s Facebook page. Here are some ways that you can help this year's crafts festival be a success:
--Volunteer to help at one of the centers (contact Susan Dominick at susanlynnedominick@gmail.com)
--Bring finger foods to share at our holiday buffet table
--Bring greenery (holly, boxwood or yew) or pine cones to be used at some of the centers
--Bring a friend with you!

Thanksgiving Baskets
  [More]

We still need donations for Thanksgiving Baskets! Feeding the hungry is a task the whole church community needs to address so once again this year Church Street will provide food baskets to local families. We are grateful to so many who have signed up to be part of the "basket blitz" during Sunday school on November 23, but there are two other very important ways that we need your help:
? Donate $50 to supply one box of 30 items for a family in need. These items include a few traditional holiday foods but also staples that most families need.
? Volunteer to get in your car and deliver at least one box the afternoon of November 23. We will provide addresses and directions. Children?s Ministry has committed to 15, Youth Ministry has committed to 15, and we would like to challenge the rest of the congregation to do at least 15 more. Contact Jenny Darden at jdarden@churchstreetumc.org or Sue Isbell at sisbell@churchstreetumc.org to add your name to the list for delivering baskets.
